I have been coming down with very severe breakouts recently.
Since I turned 24 in December, I had been having pimples pop non-stop till now. Have been trying sooo many pimple creams, new skincare lines,
new skincare regime, but all that didn’t really help me with anything, other
than make my skin extremely dry and peeling :( So, now I not only have pimples,
but I also have dry skin. FML.
I was super sceptical in accepting this sponsorship from
SkinPerfect Solutions as I have never been a regular at facials and always
heard stories about how pain it is or how your face turns out red and lasts for
days. So all these scary stories really put me off ever going for a facial. But
having been reassured by SkinPerfect that it will not leave me having super
red, angry skin, and that in fact it would help me with my dry, flaky skin, I
decided to give this a go.
I checked out their Facebook Page and their website and found out that
they specialise in customized facials and skincare, suited for every skin type.

problem areas.
Upon arrival, their skin specialist, Cindy, greeted me and
brought me to a consultation room to have a quick chat about my concerns and
the main problems that I would like to rectify.
I am then introduced to my beautician, Irene. I simply LOVE Irene. She
is sooo friendly and really very very gentle. She has the most beautiful tanned
skin with ZERO pores and ZERO pimples, and she is younger than me L Soooo envious.
(Getting off track) Irene cleanses off all my makeup (leaving my eye area as I
requested) and I changed into their robe for more comfort. Once all my makeup
is cleansed off, I am brought back into the consultation room to Cindy once
again. She lets me talk and talk and
talk about all my problems, and brings me to their special “Skin Camera” call
Visia , where I stick my face into this machine and it captures the condition
of my face. It was designed by Procter and Gamble to test skin products, and is now
available at SkinPerfect.
What comes out from this amazing machine, is a full detailed
analysis on the conditions of my face. It is able to detect the following:
- · Spots
- · Wrinkles
- · Texture
- · Pores
- · UV Spots
- · Brown Spots
- · Red Area
- · Porphyrins
The higher the percentage, the better your skin is. So essentially,
you are gonna want to see high percentage results. High percentage = Good Skin!
Mine unfortunately isn’t really good L
Ignore the face, but apparently my worst scoring problem
that I have is Wrinkles (42%) :O As Cindy explained, Wrinkles doesn’t
necessarily mean the actual wrinkle lines, sometimes the camera also picks up
dry, flaky skin to be wrinkles as well. She explains to me in much detail about
each of my scores. I’m glad my pores are in the above average range J My UV Spots are
horrible as well! All my years of not using sunscreen and depending solely on
my BB Cream’s SPF is clearly not giving me enough protection! I cannot stress
how important sunscreen is! I have tonnes of pigmentation spots cased by the
Sun’s harmful UV Rays. Cindy advised me to always apply a layer of sunscreen
that’s specifically for protection against the Sun, and not some combination
product. And I am definitely gonna start listening to her now!
Once she explained and diagnosed my problem areas, she
carefully customized a facial for me to help target my dryness and soothe my
red, angry skin. I specifically requested for NO EXTRACTIONS to be done because
it was exactly 3days before Chinese New Year and I did not want to end up
looking like a lobster.
SkinPerfect SkinSaver is an amazing package consisting of 47
Skin Therapies to create an 8 step facial. Cindy selected Biolucent, a low
level laser system to resurface my pimpled skin and a cryo treatment to calm
the skin down. She also concocted a soothing
hydrating facial mask and facial massage for me, which Irene executed the
facial beautifully. I felt deeply relaxed and pampered.
The treatment room was really comfy and the whole lighting
and ambience just really made me feel very, very relaxed. The music they played
was funnily enough, some opera music mixed with a bit of jazz. The playlist was
a very well thought out list. Not too hard-core, and not too soft. Just perfect
for my 90mins facial massage.
Irene actually carefully placed a cotton pad over my eyes
before I tore it off to take a selfie. Haha! Thank you so much Irene for the
most wonderful facial I’ve ever had! :D
The mask they applied over my face felt very cooling once
applied. It even smelt really good, almost good enough for me to eat it. It’s
like Lavender infused with some other special ingredient. It looked to me like
white chocolate (it obviously isn’t).
Here is my skin directly after the massage! I have
absolutely NO BB Cream/Foundation on my skin, just their amazing facial and
moisturizer and sunscreen. My skin is LESS irritated and angry, VERY hydrated
and most important of all, my face felt VERY, VERY SUPPLE AND SMOOTH!
